For me it depends on the day of the week, the hour of the day, the company I’m with, how healthy or unhealthy my current lifestyle is as to how I react – I do tend to over indulge at the Chinese buffet I must admit. When I liken it to my business and professional arena I tend to be full on 110% in most of what I do or not at all – simply on or off. Liken this to your business, how do you react to unexpected situations and temptation – are you easily impressed or distracted meaning you go after the latest fads in marketing because you met a nice person that convinced you that today was the right day to go all in on this marketing channel?
Take this a step further. How do you act on the all inclusive summer holiday where the food hall is open all day every day and you can visit as often as you want to day after day? How many pounds in weight do you put on during such a holiday? Back to the original question – how good are you with self control and self discipline? Surely everyday in your business should be likened to an all inclusive holiday where everything is available you every single day you just need to choose the right channels for you now.
